Aspire Scientific

Case Study:

Providing contract publication manager support

The client

One of the world’s largest independent, multinational biotechnology companies.

The challenge

Our client required a quick and flexible solution to decrease resourcing pressures on existing staff. With considerations such as recruitment time and the financial commitment of having permanent members of staff, our client decided the optimal way forward was to ‘employ’ a publications manager on a contract basis.

The solution

After working with the client to understand the resourcing needs, a member of Aspire Scientific became a remote-based, contractor publications manager. Equipped with a laptop from the client’s company, the contractor was integrated into the client’s existing scientific and medical affairs teams to lead the development and delivery of manuscripts, abstracts and posters in the publication plan in a timely and compliant manner. Other activities include attending conferences and producing meeting reports, attending advisory boards, managing the publications budget, and attending/presenting at team meetings and teleconferences with affiliates. Based on the success of the initial arrangement, a second contractor publications manager was requested for a different product within the client’s remit. We have been supporting the client in this capacity for the past 5 years.

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with you. Thanks for all of your support, professionalism and just ‘can do’ approach"
