Aspirations & Inspirations Programme Manager
The Aspirations & Inspirations Programme Manager will manage, develop and deliver the flagship Aspirations and Inspirations Programmes at Aspire Scientific. The Programme Manager will ensure both Programmes are fit for purpose, delivered to the highest standard, aligned with Aspire’s culture and values, and continuously evolved to meet the needs of participants and the business. The Programme Manager will also develop and deliver other training across the company as required
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Aspirations Programme. Achieve this by:
- In collaboration with relevant colleagues from the Aspire team, review the current structure and processes of the Aspirations programme and develop clear, actionable recommendations for its future direction
- Lead the implementation of approved recommendations for changes to the Aspirations programme, working collaboratively with a member of the MT and relevant Aspire colleagues to ensure smooth delivery and alignment with strategic goals
- Oversee the management of the internal operations of the Aspirations programme, including carrying out some of the tasks yourself, where appropriate:
- With support from relevant Aspire colleagues, carry out in-depth senior review of writing projects undertaken by Aspirations participants and prepare detailed feedback
- Be accountable for the high-quality of work being delivered to account teams from Aspirations projects
- Manage the flow of work from the company into the Aspirations programme, including future planning to ensure work is available for Aspirations participants
- Review applications from potential Aspirations participants
- Manage logistics for project assignments
- With support from relevant Aspire colleagues, carry out in-depth senior review of writing projects undertaken by Aspirations participants and prepare detailed feedback
- With support from HR and administrators, coordinate all external-facing Aspirations activities, including:
- Communication with applicants
- Outreach, external comms, and collaboration with universities
- Careers events
- Act as a point of contact for Aspirations participants, ensuring smooth communication and support
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Inspirations Programme. Achieve this by:
- Delivering the series of Inspirations training workshops in the first 6 months after entry-level writers start
- Evaluating the content of the Programme regularly, adapting the current training and developing new content to ensure that Inspirations continues to meet Aspire’s needs. To do this successfully, the Programme Manager will:
- Keep up to date with team needs
- Keep up to date with industry trends
- Liaise with the L&D Lead to ensure content reflects Aspire’s L&D strategy and identified development needs
- Identify gaps in the knowledge and skills of entry-level writer cohorts
- Act as a point of contact for Inspirations writers, mentors, and trainers, ensuring smooth communication and support
- Ensure that the Aspirations and Inspirations Programmes are fit for purpose, meet Aspire’s current and future needs, and retain high profiles
- Regularly evaluate the content, structure and format of the Programmes to ensure they meet Aspire’s needs and make changes to the Programmes as required. Use insights from Inspirations to inform the further development of Aspirations
- Develop and maintain Programme timelines, milestones, and evaluation metrics
- Ensure the smooth transition of selected Aspirations participants into the Inspirations training scheme, including:
- Working with BU leads to find the most appropriate teams and line managers for entry-level writers
- Identifying suitable mentors for Inspirations writers
- Regularly meeting with mentors and line managers to identify and address training needs, and ensure Inspirations writers are settling into Aspire well
- Considering the timing of the Aspirations Programme to align with Aspire’s needs for entry-level writers
- Ensure line managers, mentors, and senior leaders fully support their entry-level writers in line with team needs and company goals
- Communicate with Business Unit Leads and the Company Management Team regularly about the Programmes
- Support the L&D lead in developing and delivering training outside Inspirations, as required
- Develop new training materials, including workshops and self-directed learning, to meet the training needs at Aspire
- Where required, deliver training on an ad hoc or regular basis
- Collaborate with internal experts and external providers to curate and deliver content
- If required, take on line-management responsibilities
- Regularly attend and contribute to team meetings, including taking minutes/recording actions, and general team activities
